“Part of courage is simple consistency”.
October was one heck of a month – I accomplished things I never thought I could. After years of telling myself “maybe next time,” I finally completed Inktober. Yep, all 31 days of it! Its funny that it took me 27 years to finally complete the Inktober Challenge.
My Inktober Journey: 31 Days, 31 Sketches, and 31 Shorts
Inktober is a 31-day art challenge where you have to create a sketch based on a prompt every single day. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, but honestly, I always gave up out after 5-6 days. This year, I decided to make things a bit more interesting – I created daily YouTube shorts for each sketch and posted them. I set up a little video recording station at home and ordered some gear to get decent shots.
Surprisingly, this time, I actually stuck with it. I think creating the videos kept me accountable, and it was pretty cool to see those 31 shorts come together. Now I know: accountability really is the game changer.

Two Months of Perfect Apple Watch Rings & Consistent Workouts
Another win for October? Keeping those Apple Watch rings perfect for the second month in a row! I managed to work out 18 out of 31 days, and it felt good to see that consistency. I even did an InBody scan, and wow – I think I’m in the best shape of my life right now. Sure, there were a few days I went totally off track, but hey, that’s part of the journey. As long as the good days outweigh the off days, I’m happy.

Some Setbacks: Piano and Language Practice
Not everything went as planned, though. My piano practice took a hit, along with Duolingo and French studies. I was so wrapped up in the art side of things that some other habits slipped. But I’m okay with it – sometimes, you’ve just got to focus on one thing and let the rest wait.
Saving Up and Drone Practice
On the financial side, I didn’t spend too much in October, which is perfect timing with Black Friday coming up. I’ve been practicing with a friend’s drone, and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ll definitely think about getting my own soon.

Looking Ahead: November’s Challenges
November is going to be interesting. I’ve got a lot of travel planned – Texas, San Francisco, and Vancouver – so workouts might be tricky. I’m going to do my best to keep my diet in check and not let all the progress slip. Awareness is half the battle, right?
I also picked up the AWS AI Practitioner Course on Udemy and am aiming to get the certification by year’s end. I’ll probably start diving into it when I’m in Canada.
One thing I’m still figuring out? What I want to do on the travel days. I’d love to keep sketching, but I get a bit self-conscious in public. Maybe book reading will be a good alternative – nonfiction can be a bit challenging since I like taking notes, but I might give it a try.
Wrapping Up
October was a big month for me in terms of consistency and creativity, and I’m excited to see how I can carry this energy into November. If anyone else has been on a similar journey, let me know how your month went – it’s always inspiring to hear from others working toward their goals.
